Redline Boost? Operating System Boost? Overclocking?
I'm getting a new laptop custom built on a gaming computer website. (ibuypower, cyberpowerpc, xoticpc.com, etc.) and I at the very limit of my cost. However I do notice on all the sites they have "Overclocking"/"Boosting" Options. Now I'm just getting into the more technical aspects of computers, I know what most things do and I kinda understand overclocking (Boosting system with possible harm but getting more out of what parts can do) kinda please don't try to correct me TOO much lol.
Anyways my question is could I do any of these services myself? I dunno about overclocking since it might be harmful and my new laptop is suppose to last my last few months as a senior in HS, all through college and beyond. But I would REALLY like to remove any useless C*** from windows so it 1. Starts up faster, 2. Works Better, and generally is just better. But I dunno how to do this.
Are there any good websites to do it myself?
Would it require disassembly of my laptop at all?
Should I just wait and get a professional to do it?
I use hack Xbox Live Stuff, program(a lil), and do well over what most people can as well as follow directions but I was just looking for insight on this topic. THANK YOU! Have a great day!

Filming technical advice?
I'm a non-experienced non-film student who is wanting to make a horror movie. I'm already working with some people on charting out the plot and writing a script and such, but on a low-ended student budget and no equipment from past projects, I don't know how I'm going to make the film.
What kind of newer or current camcorders (remember, I'm on a student budget and, since it's a personal project and not a school-related one, I can't use the school's professional equipment. So I'm limited to what I can buy around town) would be best suited for as close to a professional look and use as possible but are also cheap? Also, what kind of video editing software (I have a mac and was planning on just doing it in my Imovie, but better suggestions are very welcome) and audio mixing software can I find between cheap and free that would decently work for my needs?

Playstation 3 ylod fix?
I have a Playstation 3 60gb Ps3 CECHA01. It has experienced the YLOD. It has been reflowed by a business, but got YLOD again months later. I was wondering if I possibly swapped out the Power Supply, and did some more extensive things if it would cure the issue. I would spend the money to do the extensive fixes like reballing, and etc. I have soldering experience, and willing to do the operation myself, but wondering if the technical difficulty is enough to leave to a professional? Anyone else had experience, or been able to sucessfully cure the issue?
Where should I apply? (Seeking a Master's in Mass Communications or Technical Writing)?
A little about myself: I'm a senior journalism major, graduating in December, with a 3.48 GPA. I go to a small public liberal-arts university. I work on campus, am an officer in the Student Government Association, a radio DJ, and in various small clubs on campus. I'm interested in either professional/technical writing or mass communications as a degree program.
Before spending lots of money on graduate applications and having an intense conversation with my advisor, I thought I'd ask here first... I don't go to a "prestigious" university... but I'm really interested in furthering my education.
Where do you think I would have a feasible shot at acceptance?
I'm only interested in information regarding acceptance into graduate programs -- not how worthless the degree is/might be. Thanks.
What can happen if you complain about your boss to their boss's boss?
After working with my boss for 1 year, I raised a concern about her behaviour with IT head.
I will explain in short:
She and I are both long term employees, and she was made a manager last year. On my first day in her team, she harassed me by warning that she will get angry at me if I didn't do her job. She said many more things in angry tone.
Later, she treated me unfairly for many months by excluding me from many important team meetings, and also denied me fair overtime payment.
Unfortunately, she is very clever, when i mentioned all this to her as she was again excluding me from some technical workshops, she complained to her boss that i don't take her instructions and get into meetings where I am not invited.
Now, recently, after she recived her 360 where I had put some negative remarks, she has again started to misbehave with me. she was loud in a meeting with many other people in it, and was constantly talking on the top of her voice.
I gave her feedback again that she should be supportive and talk to me in a professional manner. and, she took the matter to HR now.
I went to my IT director and told him only the last episode. I told him that I don't want to sit a meeting with her and HR because my boss gets loud, behaves unprofessionally and is very accusing.
My IT director listened to me but said that I should go to the meeting, HR won't let anyone get loud.
He also said that he doesn't know my manager's side of story, so, he can not undermine his manager.
My boss saw that I have gone to the IT director. She was pale and really worried. Although, I have a feeling that no one will do anything about it. I am on leave from last 3 days and I don't know what my complaint would have done.
I also want to move into another team, and my now boss wants me to move as well. But, she might create problems for me by giving false feedback to my new manager.
I am planning to sit the mediation meeting with my Boss and HR , where i will tell my side of the story and ask for move into another team.
Or, alternatively, I again go to my IT head and ask him to move me to another team. This would also give me chance to give more feedback on my boss which I want to do.
What do you think?
Did I get a virus from a fake Microsoft Tech Support employee?
Recently Ive been having problems with windows update. Anyway, I went through the Microsoft Website to get support for my issue. The next day I received an e-mail from some Guarav Vittal dude. It looks like a legit MS Support e-mail. I followed the steps to fix my Windows Update problem, but after one of the steps, I noticed that my Google searches go to something called mobilepuma.com with other letters and numbers after it.
