Can anyone recommend a GOOD forum for vocal advice?

I'm looking for a good forum dedicated to singing where I can get technical advice about singing and knowledgeable advice about mic selection, technique, and live sound setup and such. I mean no offense, but the knowledge pool here seems somewhat shallow, so I'm hoping that somebody might accidentally see this and know of a good forum. I've joined a couple other forums that 'supposedly' cater to vocalists, but I asked questions and they went weeks with no replies, so I'm thinking maybe I just found sites that...erm...LOOKED professional, but don't actually have a large user base. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Hey, Cher. Thanks for the input. If I find one I'll shoot you a message. Likewise, let me know if you find a good place! Maybe you, yourself, could give me some advice since you are a vocal coach. As for what venues we play, we play...well...the worst kind. Usually have to haul all our gear on drives over an hour to split $400 between five guys. We play for a lot of rednecks who aren't very savvy music lovers, to say the least. There are usually a few in the crowd that really appreciate some of the more difficult things we do, and they ARE encouraging. I completely understand wanting to keep your contacts somewhat guarded. It's especially wise for women, these days. If you need to contact me, you can either send me a message on my youtube channel, e-mail me at ghost_warrur@yahoo.com, or if you feel so inclined, you can add me on facebook and message/chat there. If you want to find me there, my name is Adam Meade and I live in Cabot, Arkansas. Maybe not wise to post that here, but...meh...there are greater dangers in this world. :) Just lemme know which you prefer. I've actually always wanted the consultation of a E.N.T. specialist, so that would be grrrrreat! :D

Is Ozzy actually technically "talented"?

I mean, I love the guy. He's a great showman and everything produced under both his name and Sabbath's is audable gold. Nevertheless, could you actually really call him "talented"? He's never mastered and instrument, his lyrics and music are written for him, and his voice doesn't actually have a "professional" sound in a technical sense... I'm not in music, so I don't know if I'm missing something. How impressive really was Ozzy's life and work?

Technical issues with my Acer Laptop?

I bought a new Acer Aspire 5733Z-4633 and as soon as i got it every downloadable game would get blocked by McAfee so i deleted McAfee and downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials, now EVERY game i download has a problem, Dragon Saga has "I/N has stopped working " Mabinogi says "Failed to run Mabinogi" Dragon Nest doesnt install, and Dungeons and Dragon Online deletes itself. Christians, How does God view a person with an unsuccessful career?

I am very unsuccessful in my career...My peers have gone to great heights in the lives.. Though I dont have financial difficulties, I am still way below in my career and professional life when compare to peers in my office No promotion...No recognition from managers...I have changed two jobs...but no use I have average technical skills and can just sustain in the profession...but my peers and even my juniors have soaring career I am frustrated...Nobody respects me in my office

I need my job performance review from u?

Am I a no good in serving customers,am I arrogant,am I getting tired of it all or old enough to be called grouchy,is being a non white my problem,is being a non European descent my problem?.Why do I get customers acting bad on me like they know better in my fields or like they don't like me or even wish I loose my job because of their baseless complaints? My father is a retiree from a hardware store.I've been learning the skills along side him forever and I unfortunately dropped college & working in the same field for 14yrs now.I have a certificate from an Automotive Technical School, that makes me a good mechanic.I own my house & remodel houses as a side job.I have a family & kids,I dress clean, polite & mature...I served in the Army, raced cars,traveled... What do you make out of a well to do white guy or woman(not the poor ones)but the so called educated, probably doctors, nurses, them soccer moms, fancy car drivers, office cowboys or bossy types to disagree with me on,say how to unclog a toilet or to repair a sprinkler system when I might have worked on theirs back in the days or been cleaning their sewer when I was going to school?.Why wouldn't they have patiences with another skin when they got the luxury that any complaints about them won't go no nowhere? They like to complain about prices like it's my fault when when my white bosses are right around them. They get my Professional help but they still go around to look for a white guy's suggestion, for which I would be called again to do the same thing. Why get mad at me & complain for taking time explaining a colored skin customer how an $800 welder works when they insist to look for a screw that's not in the market ecept a the manufacturer of their fancy furniture? So is this a racist thing that is out there too or what do I have to change to get a good review from my managers who listen to these craps?

Question for professional photographers only?

I am looking into getting either an A.A.S. in Visual Communications with a focus in Photography (2 year program; costs more money and more time) or a Photography Technical Certificate (1 year program; less time and money). I need to know if it would make a significant difference to have the 2 year degree when looking for a job. I am 41 years old and this will be a new field for me. I do not have any other degrees.

What University Program sounds more interesting to you (program descriptions posted in details)...?

Program #1 (Communication, Cultural, Information Technology): The focus of the CCIT program is on the generation, diffusion, and social impact of new technologies, and how media and technologies interact with commerce, culture and communication. The CCIT program combines academic courses in the arts and social sciences taught at the University of Toronto Mississauga with hands-on applied courses in digital media and technology taught at both UTM and the Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, offering an appealing opportunity for students to concurrently obtain both an undergraduate bachelor of arts degree and a Certificate in Digital Communications from Sheridan. The CCIT curriculum first establishes a foundation of communication theory and then equips students with the technical proficiency and creative project planning skills necessary to translate that theory into practice in a variety of academic and professional applications, from research and instructional technologies to web design and marketing. Experiential learning, in the form of the upper level Internship opportunities, further enhances eligible students understanding of the essential role communication and its technologies play in industry settings. By presenting communication in this range of contexts and allowing for double majors and minors in other programs, the CCIT program gives students a breadth of knowledge that differentiates this program from other communications undergraduate degrees. Program #2 (Interactive Digital Media): Interactive Digital Media (IDM) is an interdisciplinary undergraduate program that is run jointly with the Faculty of Information (commonly known as the iSchool) at the University of Toronto. It provides students with a foundation in the generation, diffusion and critical analysis of the social impact of new and emerging technologies. In addition to learning how to analyze and use a variety of media tools, students will focus on digital media and its information communication infrastructures. Students will learn to design and create digital artefacts and create virtual environments suitable for collaboration, communication, learning and exploration. In the fourth year, students will be required to participate in an experiential learning based project relevant to their core interests. In addition to the CORE courses, students will be required to take two modules, each module consists of 5 half courses. The modules are designed as integrated sets of courses providing students with the knowledge and skills relevant to specific areas of specialization. The Knowledge Media Design module is designed to provide students with comprehensive knowledge and skills that are relevant for careers that involve the active and thoughtful design of content for knowledge media. These careers will span a range from traditional journalism through electronic publishing to the creation and management of knowledge media in traditional and digital organizations. The Immersive Digital Media module is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge for careers involving presentation, analysis, and immersive communication, utilizing data and information obtained from a wide variety of different media sources in a wide variety of formats. These careers span traditional business, web-based business, health care, education, and creative domains including gaming and simulation. Students will also be able to translate their skills and knowledge into performance environments. -Thanks in advance! (I was also wondering if i'd be able to work in the IT field with program #2)?

Would you support a bill that requires professionals to be part of congressional committees?

Basically, there are some issues that I think Congress just isn't qualified to deal with, that they get pressure to legislate on. Good recent examples are SOPA/PIPA and CISPA, but there are other issues like health care that could easily get as technical. I'd like to ensure that there are paid government positions, possibly contracts, that work directly for Congress kind of the way the Marshals work for the Supreme Court (so not part of the President's cabinet), to deal with these kinds of things. They don't get to represent anyone and can't author any part of any bills since they aren't elected, but they do get to review and veto any part of anything they don't like. They can be paid researchers out of the salaries of the Congressmen that are part of the committees. That way, we don't have people that think the internet is a series of tubes X's and O's flow through making uninformed decisions. I know there are bodies out there that are sometimes used like this, but I don't think there's any language that forces people in Congress to use people that know what the hell they're on about at any point in the process. If you think it's a good idea, lemme know, if you see problems, lemme know too. @avail, I did say something to the effect toward the bottom, but I know I get wordy, so thanks for the tl;dr as it will help others.
