why a reference to horses in this poem? URGENT?
so in this poem it says that
"your mighty horses swift and true will not be no use at all"
the poem is called "don't believe in war"
why talk about horses? and why is the use of reference to horses so powerful?

Anyone that watches Torchwood?
I've got all of the boxsets, and I was recently watching some of the "old" episodes ie series 1 and 2. I was thinking, I really miss Torchwood when it was like that; namely a Welsh sci-fi. I can't help but feel that Miracle Day is (no offense to any Americans) well, too American. Whether it's the model actors, or the CIA references or the fact it's set in perma-sun, I just think it's changed too much for its own good. You would never see any of those scenes with balding, drunk Welshmen bragging to their friends/general cultural references in the newish series. Not to mention the fact that the new actors/actresses can't come close to Owen (Burn Gorman), Tosh (Naoko Mori) and Ianto (Gareth David-Lloyd).
Does anyone agree?
help on my story concept?
I have a concept for a story I am writing that for me is a wee bit out there.
It is told as a fantasy story with a boy trying to find his sister who has went missing as the main arc. however as the story progressing you get hints that the world he is in may not be reality eventually leading to the reveal he was in a coma in the real world the whole time. and his adventure win the comatose state was about finding his will to live and come out of the coma, a twist on the unknown of what happens in our brains.
their will be references to his ambitions and emotions projected on the world as well as significant figures helping and hinderng him. the world also seems to want to kill him showing the battle allow coma patients face to survive.
is this a good idea and would the twist be an interesting read for you?
Avengers and MLP
So I was watching the totally awesome Avengers movie, and toward the end I suddenly thought, "Wait, Captain America is Twilight Sparkle!" :O Then I realized there are 6 avengers and 6 of the main cast. I started trying to work out which pony is which avenger. So far I've thought:
Captain America- Twilight Sparkle
Iron Man- Rainbow Dash
Black Widow- Rarity
Thor- Apple Jack
And here's where I got stuck. Pinky Pie and Fluttershy. Hulk and Hawkeye. Both Pinky and Fluttershy would make a good hulk, Fluttershy had the Hulk reference in "Putting Your Hoof Down" and when she actually gets angry, she's ANGRY. And Pinky's just totally bipolar. I just thought in the end that Fluttershy would be a better Hawkeye than Pinky would.
Yes. It is a horrible, horrbile, nerdy debate. >w< Just awful. Lol! I brought it up to my friends after the movie and they were sickened by the fact they actually had opinions about this. But I eventually want to draw the ponies as the avengers and was wondering what the general consensus was. Your thoughts? :D

Drawings on a Violin?
I saw this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4gJXo98O6Q
(the cover is just phenomenal) BUT I was just curious how the person who made it, got the pictures on the Violin. Maybe using this advice for future reference, but what did she use? I know ordinary Sharpies would of ruined the instrument. The glaze is still perfect and everything. Any ideas?
WW2 helppppp!!!!! please?
the WW2 was caused by the treaty of versailles how does that have reference to the failure of the league of nations?
Do you think I will get the job?
So I put a add up that I was looking for bar work. I got a reply from the manager from a country pub, and he said they were hiring. So I sent him a copy of my resume and rsa. He called one of my references that was on my resume and she said good things about me. Then he called me and talked about the job "and said that the 2 barmaids are leaving in a few weeks" He said "they have hired mostly back packers and that he wants some Ozzie's up there now"(I am ozzie. then he said he was coming to perth next week, and he wants to meet and chat with me about it" he did not give me a day or time. When he called the dog kept barking really loud at my house.
I am nearly 22 years old, and I do not have experience in bar work but I said that in my add
Vietnam War Atrocities?
So I have this History Project due on Tuesday (three days away D:) and my topic of interest is war atrocities in the Vietnam War. The research project needs to be 1500 words. We've been given little to no specific criteria, albeit the strict requirements regarding referencing. I don't find the word limit or referencing specifications a problem, but I am struggling to find reliable, relevant data. Also, as I've never known much about the Vietnam war, I don't know what massacres and atrocties to put in. I know I will include the My Lai Massacre and the Hué Massacre, but I don't think this is enough. If you know of some proven atrocities, perpetrated by vietnamese or american forces, please let me know ASAP. Thankyou!
That's helpful, thank you gee bee. I've seen that wiki page and I've read Nick Turse's article in the Asian-Pacific journal but can't get ahold of The War Behind Me by Deborah Nelson. I guess I'll just have to make do with what I've got from those pages, thank you again :)
